Sehel Island is a small island in the middle of the river Nile. The site is interesting for migratory birds. So the best time to visit is winter. Birds you can observe include Abejaruco esmeralda oriental, Nile Valley Sunbird, Ganso del Nilo, Avefría Espinosa, Cormorán Grande, Garcita Verdosa, Martín Pescador Pío and Alción de Esmirna.
Collalba Desértica, Cigüeña Negra and Avetorillo común have been observed during autumn migration.

Sehel Island is located in the river Nile between the town of Aswan and the Aswan Dam. The only access to the island is by boat. The place where boats cross the Nile to the island is marked with a star.
