Descripción
Habida Island is a low elongated island in the River Nile. The area I explored was the extreme south. This low lying area on the south of Habida Island has reed beds, beach and scrub, as well as woodland. Perfect for waders and birds associated with them. Among the bird you can observe are Cigüeñuela común, Abubilla común, Garceta Común, Garza Imperial, Martín Pescador Pío, Calamón de Africa, Martinete Común, Águila Pescadora and Abejaruco esmeralda oriental.

Accesso
The beach on the south end of Habida Island is used by traditonal Egyptian Faluccas on Nile Cruises. Some stop for the night here which will give you time to look around. Other than a Nile Cruise, the island is only really accessible by boat. Local farmers live on the island so please be respectful of them and their livestock.

Bear in mind, the island is located about 10-15 miles north of Aswan in Southern Egypt. Temperatures here during the summer months can get very hot (up to 40+ degrees Celcius).
