Descripción

At Doña Dora visitors can see from 30 to 60 species in one day, in an area no larger than 150 square meters. You will especially enjoy a unique bird with seven colors, a distinctive song with a symphonic rhythm, a cluck that it uses when it finds food, and a click to call the chick when it is fed. It has a beak with a cutting tool design, which allows it to perforate dry trunks in the preparation of its nests. It is the Toucan Barbet.

The area also has a 700-meter path to reach a lek of the Andean Cock-of-the-rock. At the lek males gather to show their courtship and attract females. The hike to the lek of the Andean Cock-of-the-rock is quite steep and can be challenging. Also a possibility to watch birds from the roof of the main building.
