The wetland complex and adjacent territories are a mosaic of different habitats supporting interesting bird species all year round. One of the main wintering sites for Barnacla cuelliroja and one of the few in Europe breeding sites of Carricero Agrícola. Shabla Tuzla is important stop-over site for many migrating birds and especially for waders. In winter time Malvasía Cabeciblanca can be found there, and with some luck - Sisón Común, Halcón Sacre and other interesting species. You can observe the wintering geese from the road according to the places they land for feeding in the crop fields.
