Descripción
The Orti Nature Reserve is a wetland located at the confluence of the Ourthe Occidentale and Laval rivers. In 2007, the Municipality of Sainte-Ode made 6.5 hectares of marshy areas available to create a nature reserve. In its centre, is an old restored pond. In 2011 the Orti reserve was expanded by 18 hectares. An educational trail has been created and about thirty small ponds have also been dug.
If you keep a low profile and are very lucky, you might see a Cigüeña Negra. Other birds that can be seen include Alcaudón Dorsirrojo, Escribano Cerillo, Carbonero Montano, Carbonero Palustre, Camachuelo Común, Curruca Mosquitera, Carricero Políglota, Martín Pescador Común, Pico Menor and in winter Alcaudón Norteño. During migration Grulla Común regularly make a stopover in the area. The Orti reserve also houses many amphibians and beavers.

The Réserve naturelle d'Orti is a nature reserve located in the commune of Sainte-Ode. You can park at the designated parking area on Rue de la Gare in Amberloup. Press P on the map for directions to the parking. From the parking you can make the 4 km circular walk that is indicated on the map.
