The Hasseltbos is a forest with undergrowth and with older trees such as beech. This makes the forest attractive to typical forest birds such as Trepador Azul, Agateador Europeo, Pico Picapinos and even Pico Mediano can be admired there. There is a small piece of coniferous wood where you can hear and see Reyezuelo Sencillo and Reyezuelo Listado. The bushes are attractive to Curruca Capirotada, Pinzón Vulgar and Ruiseñor Común (not annually). And including of course Busardo ratonero.

Nederlands: Het Hasseltbos is een bos met oudere bomen zoals beuken en met onderbegroeiing die het bos aantrekkelijk maakt voor de typische bosvogels zoals Trepador Azul, Agateador Europeo, Pico Picapinos en zelfs de Pico Mediano kan je er bewonderen. Er is een klein stukje naaldhout waar je dan weer Reyezuelo Sencillo en Reyezuelo Listado kan horen en zien. De struiken zijn dan weer aantrekkelijk voor Curruca Capirotada, Pinzón Vulgar en Ruiseñor Común (niet jaarlijks). En uiteraard ontbreekt ook de Busardo ratonero niet.

The Hasseltbos is located north of Geraardsbergen near the village of Ophasselt. Parking is possible along the public road Brambroek. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 2 km.
