Descripción
The Handzame Broeken area consists of a extensive agricultural area, being mainly pastures, with scattered trees, bushes and willow tree lanes. The Kreekebeek river flows through the area and is a great spot for waterfowl, like Cerceta Común, Silbón Europeo and Cuchara Común. The surrounding pastures are good for flocks of Avefría Europea. In winter, these pastures are part of the hunting grounds for Aguilucho pálido. In winter, area is also good for Cisne Cantor.
The scattered (willow) trees are great for observing Mochuelo Europeo and Paloma Zurita. The scattered bushes and fences are a great spot for breeding species, like Tarabilla común and Tarabilla Norteña.
