The Grote Getevallei is a valley with a mosaic of grasslands, hedgerows, ponds and small woodlands, with the Grote Gete flowing through the centre. The valley has been preserved from intensive arable farming. Some of the meadows flood every winter, and remain under water until well into spring. You will find typical species here such as Zarapito Real, Tarabilla común, Zarcero Icterino , Tórtola Europea. A suitable habitat is created for Alcaudón Dorsirrojo.

Sommige weilanden overstromen elke winter en blijven tot ver in de lente onder water staan. The Grote Getevallei is located between Linter and Zoutleeuw. There are several areas where you can park. Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. On foot you can explore the Grote Getevallei along old paths and the Getedijk. The circular walk shown on the map is 14 kilometers, but can easily be shortened to a shorter walk.
