Descripción
Over 240 bird species have been found at the Güssinger Fischteiche, making it one of the best places in southern Burgenland for birdwatching. The site is also easily accessible from the town and can be incorporated with a visit to the well-known castle nearby. Highlights include breeding Porrón Europeo and Somormujo Lavanco, a heron colony with Garza Real and Garceta Grande and summer migrants including Avetorillo común and Buscarla Unicolor. In spring the site attracts waders such as Cigüeñuela común as well as passage birds such as Gaviota Enana and Fumarel Común. The site also has some woodland, which contains Picamaderos Negro, Picogordo Común, Pito Cano, and there is a chance of Pigargo Europeo.

Accesso
You can park in the main town car parks and walk across the road. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular route indicated on the map is about 6 km. The paths in between the fishponds themselves are private, but birdwatchers are tolerated and local walkers often use these too. These paths offer the best views of the ponds.
