Descripción

The Tennant Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant is located in a place where there is very little water for much of the year. So these large fresh water ponds close to the edge of the town of Tennant are extremely attractive to birds. Among the birds you can observe are Plumed Whistling-Duck, Maned Duck, Pink-eared Duck, Pied Stilt, Red-necked Avocet, Black-fronted Dotterel, Red-kneed Dotterel, Sharp-tailed Sandpiper, Australian Pratincole, Whiskered Tern, Hoary-headed Grebe and many more, see the birdlist below.
