Lake Claremont is a park in the western suburbs of Perth. It consists of a lake and some bush land on the western and northern site. In summer the lake dries completely out. Many swamp birds can be seen from the observation platform during wetter seasons. The surrounding areas are habited by Galah , Laughing Kookaburra , Silvereye , Red Wattlebird and more. Some of the swamp birds you can expect are Australian Shelduck , Australasian Swamphen , White-faced Heron , Pied Stilt and Straw-necked Ibis .

Accesso

The lake is accessible by car, train or bike. Parking spots are south and east of the lake. There are several bus stops around the lake, as well as a train station at the southern end, from there it is a 7 minute walk to the lake.

The lake itself is surrounded by a 2,4 km walking trail, which is mostly sealed or for some parts a wide unpaved path. The trail can be done walking or cycling. Public toilets can be found in the area as well.
