Nearly 150 species are recorded at Derby Jetty on eBird including numerous mangrove dwelling species and including the infrequently seen Great-billed Heron and the Kimberley form of Lemon-bellied Flyrobin.

Other 'sought after' birds that have been recorded here include Torresian Kingfisher, Eastern Curlew and Broad-billed Flycatcher.

Accesso

Derby Jetty is accessed via Jetty Road which extends off Loch St, Derby. Press P on the map to access Google mapping. Birding can be done from the jetty itself (open for pedestrian access) or from the adjacent rock walls. Check tides (see link below) as to when the mud flats become visible. Note that the flats are Saltwater Crocodile habitat! Note also that Derby records one of the world's greatest tidal ranges.
