During the spring and autumn migration periods, many wetland birds pass through Yerevan Lake, including various ducks such as Cuchara Común, Porrón Pardo, and others, as well as waders like Chorlitejo Chico and Cigüeñuela común. Additionally, the migration routes of some birds of prey, such as Milano Negro and Abejero Europeo, pass through the lake. In summer Somormujo Lavanco, Focha Común, Carricero Tordal, Buscarla Unicolor and others nest here. In winter, the lake becomes a refuge for Cerceta Común and Gaviota Reidora.

Yerevan Lake is located approximately 3 kilometers southwest of the city center of Yerevan. Public transport: Buses 43, 23, 47, 67 to Yerlabur stop close to the lake. From the bus stop a walk of approximately 10-15 minutes is required. Taxi/car: To Tsovakal Isakov 15/1 (gas station). On foot: Approximately 30 minutes from the city center.
