Noravank is set in a dramatic red-rock canyon with steep cliffs and rugged terrain, creating a perfect habitat for birds of prey and mountain species. Quebrantahuesos and Águila Real soar above, while Roquero Solitario and Collalba de Cola Roja perch on rocky ledges. You can also spot Escribano Montesino, Serín Frentirrojo, Trepador Rupestre Occidental, Perdiz chúcar and Chova Piquirroja here. The stunning landscape, rich history, and excellent birdwatching opportunities make Noravank a unique and rewarding destination.

Accesso
Noravank is located in a picturesque canyon in the Vayots Dzor region, about 120 km southeast of Yerevan. The easiest way to reach Noravank is by car. The drive from Yerevan takes around 2 hours via the M2 highway. There is a parking area near the monastery. Press P on the map for directions. There is no direct public transport to Noravank. You can take a bus or marshrutka from Yerevan to Yeghegnadzor, then hire a taxi for the final 12 km to the site.
The best way to explore Noravank is on foot. The canyon offers scenic walking trails and excellent birdwatching spots. A short visit takes about 1–2 hours, but for birdwatching and hiking, plan for at least 3–4 hours.
