You can get to Meghri from Yerevan by bus. Book a ticket in advance by calling 094003462. You can also rent a car, but the road goes along very dangerous switchbacks, so be careful.
The drive to Meghri from Yerevan takes at least 8 hours, and along the way you can visit other birdwatching spots, such as Tatev Monastery. If you're traveling to Meghri and want to enjoy birdwatching, you'll need to book accommodation in the city for at least 2 nights.
You can explore the surrounding area on foot or by car. You can also find a driver in the city to drive you. If you want to hire a driver, it's best to inquire about this in advance when booking your hotel.
Meghri is located in the border zone, so if you're a foreigner, please have your passport and other permits with you.
