Descripción
Several species of mountain and moorland passerines and the derelict buildings add further opportunities. In spring, there are migratory raptors and Painted Lady butterflies.

In springtime, it's probable that there will be snow on the ground and this may prevent exploration on foot or by car. Bring warm clothes. At this time of year (May), the ground will have spectacular carpets of flowers.
The suggested site is spread over three miles of road. At one one end is a gorge with Amberd Castle, a historic church, a rough restaurant and toilets (where there may be a swallow's nest).
