El Pas de la Casa is worth a detour because it is located high in the mountains and therefore a good place to observe the Chova Piquigualda, which is only found in the Pyreenees and Alps. In addition, Estany de les Abelletes has a beautiful mountain lake that can be viewed on the pleasant walk up from the town.
You can also spot other birds such as Acentor Alpino, Culebrera Europea, Buitre Leonado, Avión Roquero, Pardillo Común, Paloma Bravía, Lavandera Cascadeña, Gorrión Común and Gorrión Chillón.

El Pas de la Casa is a border town on the main road from France into Andorra. You can leave your car in any of the many car parks and then explore the area by foot. For the really adventurous you can also use a mountain bike. The circular walking route shown on the map is about 4 km.
