The unique habitat of the White Cliffs of Dover make it well worth a visit, with some great nesting birds, and the good chance of a rarity.
The cliffs themselves and the surrounding chalk grasslands make a unique habitat found in few other places, while the proximity to the continent makes it a popular resting spot for rarities from across the channel. Nesting birds can include Πετρίτης, (Κοινός) Κόρακας, Northern Fulmar and even Τριδάκτυλος Γλάρος. Divers and auks can be seen off the coast in winter, and it is not unusual for rarities to appear: Στραβολαίμης, Pallas's Leaf Warbler, Χιονοκότσυφας and the occasional shrike.
Park at the main car park (operated by National Trust) and enjoy numerous hiking trails of varying lengths and degrees of difficulty.
