The sound between the Isle of Skye and Raasay where the capital of the Isle of Skye, Portree, is located.
The Sound of Raasay is wonderful to explore. By boat you can sail along the beautiful cliffs of Skye and see (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσαετός perched on their nests and see Black Guillemot and many other seabirds. You can also see minke whales and hundreds of dolphins.
Boat trips can be booked from Portree. A 2 hour trip costs approx £ 30 for adults (see link below for more info or booking). Hiking is also an option. You can walk over the cliffs on paths that are easily accessed from Portree. Portree itself is also nice to visit and Raasay can also be visited.
