Description
The flooded former gravel workings in the Kennet valley running over four miles from south west Reading to Sulhampstead attracts birds all year round. Among the birds you can encounter are Μαυροσκούφης, Lesser Whitethroat, Κηποτσιροβάκος, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Ψευταηδόνι, Δεντρογέρακο and (Κοινό) Αηδόνι. There is a substantial population of Winter ducks, mostly dabbling, including hundreds of Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια, Καπακλής and (Ευρωπαϊκό) Σφυριχτάρι and the odd (Ευρωπαϊκή) Βουκεφάλα.
