Description
Located in the heart of the Somerset Levels and Moors, Greylake is a flat wetland with good paths and reedbed. Thanks to all the water, you can see (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα, Κοκκινοσκέλης and (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι nesting in the spring. Smaller birds such as Σχοινοποταμίδα, Κιτρινοσουσουράδα and (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο can be heard and seen singing from the trails.
Over winter, vast flocks of ducks and waders, being hunted by birds of prey. (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα and (Ευρωπαϊκό) Βροχοπούλι are sometimes joined by Λασποσκαλίδρα, Μαχητής and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα. Large flocks of (Ευρωπαϊκό) Σφυριχτάρι, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Κιρκίρι and smaller groups of (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρόπαπια, Καπακλής and Ψαλίδα (του Βορά) feed in front of the hides. Πετρίτης and Καλαμόκιρκος are seen regularly and Νανογέρακο and Χειμωνόκιρκος occasionally.

Access
There is a free car park off A361 (Ashcott to Taunton road) well signposted just before entrance. There is a boardwalk which meanders from the car park to the hide and provides disabled access. Said to be wheelchair friendly but never tried.
