Description
Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is the highest canal aqueduct in the world providing excellent views over the River Dee that flows 127 feet below. Mandarin Duck, Χηνοπρίστης, Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Νεροκότσυφας and other riparian species are expected. Whilst in the air around you corvids, raptors and hirundines fly playfully in the wind, e.g., (Κοινή) Σταχτάρα, (Κοινή) Γερακίνα, Χαβαρόνι.
In the trees alongside the canal by which you walk, finches, tits and thrushed are abundant (Ελατοπαπαδίτσα, Δεντροφυλλοσκόπος, (Κοινός) Σπίνος, Τρυποφράχτης, etc.).
