Area around Llanarmon DC, a tiny village in the Berwyn Mountains.
The area around Llanarmon DC is predominantly consisting of managed upland moor and shooting estate with sheep farming. Wonderful landscape with peace and solitude in abundance. Great for seeing Ψαλιδιάρης and occasional sightings of Χειμωνόκιρκος and Δεντρογέρακο. In early summer you can observe (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κούκος ( usually heard rather than seen) and some (Ευρασιατική) Τουρλίδα pairs on the tops. (Ευρωπαϊκός) Νεροκότσυφας along the local streams. Σταχτομυγοχάφτης nests locally.
Llanarmon DC is located 17 miles (27 km) southwest of Wrexham. Irregular bus service from Chirk. Cycling possible, car most feasible. Please park sensibly and take care when parking not to block farm and field entrances. Click on the P in the map for directions.
