Description
The island of Flat Holm has a significant breeding colony of over 4,000 pairs of Μελανόγλαρος, 400 pairs of Ασημόγλαρος του Βορά, two pairs of Γιγαντόγλαρος and varying numbers of (Ευρωπαϊκός) Στρειδοφάγος and Βαρβάρα. The south of the island is undermanaged and mainly used for the large population of Μελανόγλαρος, while the rest the island is managed to help the population of slow worms and other rare wildlife. The island has many cliff faces and beaches where the more scarcer birds can be found.

Access
Scheduled 3 hour visits run from March to October. All trips depart from the Barrage South Water Bus Stop, situated in the Penarth Marina aboard the Lewis Alexander and the crossing takes about 50 minutes. Parking is availiable in the Barrage South Car Park and a parking ticket will be provided valid for the day of your visit when you book.
