Description

Barry Buddon is a huge M.O.D. (Ministry of Defence) training area. The seaward side of Barry Buddon near the town of Carnoustie has a golf course, dunes, shelter belts, grassland, beaches and a bay. The area is year round of interest. Good for sea ducks, divers, terns, gulls and shorebirds. Especially Νανόγλαρος and some Roseate Tern in late summer. Grey and Common Seal and Bottlenose Dolphin can also be observed.

Access

Barry Buddon Sea Area is accessed from car park by Carnoustie Golf Hotel, or Barry train station (irregular service). Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. Note: To south of golf course is M.O.D. land, no entry when red flags flying.
