Species such as Lesser Redpoll, (Κοινή) Ροδόσπιζα, Βαλτοποταμίδα, Κηποτσιροβάκος, Κεδρότσιχλα, Σταχτομυγοχάφτης or Στραβολαίμης can be observed in the floodplain forest . On the gravel banks along the Reuss there are Ακτίτης, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Νεροκότσυφας and Σταχτοσουσουράδα. The following species can be observed in the pastures and meadows: (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκελάδα, Δεντροκελάδα, Σταχτοπετρόκλης, Φιδαετός, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Σφηκιάρης, Καστανολαίμης, White-faced Whistling Duck, Αετομάχος.

The floodplain area is located between the villages of Hospental and Realp. You can explore the area on foot. A circular walk around the area is about 3 km.
