Description

Stadsjön has wetland areas, forest, meadows, reed beds and river habitats. This variety attracts many birds. Along the hiking trail you can walk or roll straight through wetlands, experience rainforest-like deciduous forest, and look out over the open wet meadows where cows graze. From the newly built lookout tower you look out over the beautiful landscape. If you are lucky, the (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσαετός can come gliding over, or you can hear Σχοινοποταμίδα singing. During spring and autumn, the reserve is visited by large numbers of resting birds. Among the birds you can encounter are (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρόπαπια, Μαυροκέφαλη Πάπια, Καστανοπαπαδίτσα, Κηποτσιροβάκος, Χρυσαετός, Καλαμόκιρκος, Χειμωνόκιρκος, (Κοινός) Κόρακας, Κιτρινοσουσουράδα, Χρυσοτσίχλονο, Νανόχηνα, Χιονογερακίνα, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Σφυριχτάρι, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Κιρκίρι, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Βουκεφάλα, Χηνοπρίστης, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κούκος, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκοτσέλα, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Γερανός, (Ευρασιατική) Τουρλίδα, Λασποσκαλίδρα, (Ευρασιατική) Μπεκάτσα, (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι, Διπλομπεκάτσινο, Κοκκινοσκέλης, Λασπότρυγγας, Πρασινοσκέλης, Λαμπροβούτι, Ποταμογλάρονο, Ψαραετός, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Σφηκιάρης, Ψαλιδιάρης, Νανοδρυοκολάπτης, Χουχουριστής, Στραβολαίμης, Μαύρος Δρυοκολάπτης, Δεντρογέρακο, Πετρίτης, Διπλοκεφαλάς, Θαμνοτριλιστής, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Νεροκότσυφας, Τσιχλαηδόνι and Γαλαζολαίμης.
