Description
Norsholmen is a peninsula on the small island of Fårö between Tällevika and Ajkesvik north of Gotland. Norsholmen is known for its good birding, mainly during spring and autumn migration. During the spring, large numbers of seabirds and waders pass through. At the end of May, for example, large flocks of Barnacle Goose can be seen stopping on their way to their Arctic breeding grounds. The birdlife consists of waders such as (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αβοκέτα, Χαλικοκυλιστής, Μαχητής and Λασποσκαλίδρα and terns such as Χιονογλάρονο and (Ευρωπαϊκό) Νανογλάρονο. At the end of July/August, flocks of Χειμωνογλάρονο dwell around the islet. (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσαετός is often seen.
