Coastal bay area that is known for its fine observations of seabirds, waders and other species.
Ramsvikslandet Nature Reserve is a relatively small area of about 5 km x 2.5 km with fantastic surroundings with rocky landscapes in bohus granite, varied nature. All year round, Ramsvik and in particular Haby Bukt (Haby bay), in southern Ramsvikslandet, is worth visiting for birders. The area is known for fine observations of seabirds, waders and other species. Among ornithologists, Ramsvikslandet is also well known because of the ringing station of Grosshamn.
Just north of the village of Nötö you can park and from the parking it's only a short distance to the bay. You can combine it with a walk through Ramsvikslandet Nature Reserve that has many hiking trails that are suitable for both longer day hikes and shorter signposted walks. The shortest is 1.5 km and the longest is 15 km. Some of the hiking trails follow easy-to-walk trails and some hiking trails require climbing and detours around ravines. You can also drive up further to the ringing station of Grosshamn (see the link below for more info).
