The avifauna present in the riverbed of the Río Segura is mainly made up of colonies of herons, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αλκυόνη in winter, other aquatic birds remain to a greater or lesser extent throughout the year, being able to see (Κοινή) Φαλαρίδα, Αρκοπετείναρο, (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι and Πρασινοκέφαλη Πάπια. But also birds like (Ευρωπαϊκός) Συκοφάγος, (Κοινή) Σταχτάρα, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Μελισσοφάγος and Μαυροτσιροβάκος.

La avifauna presente varía según la época del año, pudiendo diferenciar entre cuatro periodos: invernada, reproducción (estival), pasos migratorios prenupcial y postnupcial.
