Plans de Sió is a large steppe-type area, dominated by single-crop cereal farming, located in the Segarra region. It is a dry landscape with some shrubs or scrub. Steppe bird species, such as Λιβαδόκιρκος, Χαμωτίδα and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Πετροτουρλίδα breed in the area, but can be hard to find. The more common birds include Κοκκινοπέρδικα, Όρνιο, Φιδαετός, Γερακαετός, Ψαλιδιάρης, Τσαλαπετεινός, Iberian Grey Shrike, (Κοινή) Γαλιάντρα, Βραχοκιρκίνεζο and Τσιφτάς. Sometimes Spanish Imperial Eagle is observed.
