Pedra Alta is a great place for observing rare birds such as Μαύρος Πελαργός, Μαχητής or Πορφυροτσικνιάς, steppe birds such as Χαμωτίδα or (Ευρωπαϊκή) Πετροτουρλίδα and aquatic birds such as (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα, Λασπότρυγγας, Σκουφοβουτηχτάρι and many different species of ducks.

Access
Pedra Alta is located 12 km northeast of the town of Xinzo de Limia. You can get to Pedra Alta by car, by bike or even on foot along the OU-0110 road. There is no specific parking, but you can park on the edges of the paths and in a small esplanade in the lagoon area. Press P on the map for directions.
