Great area for birdwatching wIth marked trails and observation hides.
Marismas de Cetina are a complex ecosystem, transitioning between an area of forest, a freshwater marsh and a salt marsh with a very high ecological value. The area has a huge variety of birds. As the birds can be far away a telescope is essential. Among the birds you can see in the area are Ψαραετός, Καλαμόκιρκος, Μαύρος Πελαργός, Καλαμοτριλιστής, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Φοινικόπτερο, Αργυροτσικνιάς, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αβοκέτα, Καλαμόκιρκος, Ψαραετός, Μαύρος Πελαργός, Μικρογαλιάντρα της Ερήμου, (Ευρασιατική) Χαλκόκοτα, Καλαμοτριλιστής, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Φοινικόπτερο, Πορφυροτσικνιάς, Θαλασσοσφυριχτής, Ψαλίδα (του Βορά), Σουλτανοπουλάδα and Βαλτόμπουφος.

You can get there by car to the beginning of the trail. You must go from the north exit of Puerto Real towards Dehesa de la Yeguas. In the main access, straight ahead, you cross a pine forest with a recreational area and you reach the marsh. The existence of pine forest, heath, freshwater marsh and Salinas generates great biodiversity.

The best days are weekdays. The ideal times for birding are fall and spring. In summer you can see Πορφυροτσικνιάς in the area.
