Description
Les Basses d'en Coll is an important wetland reserve with 191 species seen. Winter wildfowl including (Ευρωπαϊκη) Βαλτόπαπια, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Φοινικόπτερο, Σουλτανοπουλάδα, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρομύτα and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκοτσέλα. Gulls including Ασημόγλαρος της Μεσογείου. Also Πορφυροτσικνιάς, Τσιχλοποταμίδα, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκελάδα, Σπιζαετός, Διπλοσάϊνο and Όρνιο. Αρτέμης, Αρτέμης (diomedea) and Μύχος των Βαλεαρίδων offshore. In the fields and trees (Κοινό) Αηδόνι, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Χαλκοκουρούνα, Σκορταλλός and Common Waxbill.

Access
Reserve is a 8 km walk south from Estartit along the beach. By car it's 19 km. From the main road between Palafrugell to Torroella, head east at Mas Carles and look for viewing platform. There are campsites north and south. The beach gets busy so summer visits are not recommended. No buses nearby.
