Description

The Wastewater Treatment Plant of Las Torres de Cotillas (EDAR) is a place of interest to observe gulls that come to bathe and rest from a nearby landfill where they come to feed. You can also see different species of ducks, (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι, (Κοινή) Φαλαρίδα, Αρκοπετείναρο and some waders and (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος in winter. During bird migration other birds can be expected. The area also sometimes holds (Ευρωπαϊκή) Πετροτουρλίδα.

Espagnol: Estación Depuradora de Aguas Residuales (EDAR), consta de varias balsas donde se deposita el agua depurada que posteriormente se utiliza para riego agrícola. Es un lugar de interés para observar gaviotas que llegan para bañarse y descansar desde un vertedero cercano al que acuden a alimentarse. También se pueden observar anátidas como anade azulón, porrón europeo, focha común, gallineta conún, zampullín común. Algunas límicolas, cormorán grande en invierno y otras especies durante los pasos migratorios.

Access

On the northwest motorway, take the exit that connects with the road that goes to Las Torres de Cotillas (RM-B37), exit at the roundabout that gives access to EDAR, the basins are following the road at a few hundred meters from the cooperative's facilities.
