Description
Zabran is a deciduous forest, mainly oak, and some poplar, surrounded by Sava and Kolubara rivers. The presence of many old trees attracts numerous woodpecker species, including Πευκοδρυοκολάπτης, Μεσαίος Δρυοκολάπτης, Νανοδρυοκολάπτης, Σταχτής Δρυοκολάπτης, Πράσινος Δρυοκολάπτης, and Μαύρος Δρυοκολάπτης.
Some of the forest area is flooded in winter and spring, forming ponds, like the Jazbinska Pond ('Burrower Pond') in the northernmost part of the forest near the Sava riverbank.
