Orlovo Gnezdo (Eagle's nest) is a birdingplace situated south to Tometino Polje village. This place offers typical mountain landscapes and bird species.
This birdingplace is actually a road between two mountain ridges that follows the river Kamenica. The road used to be accessible for cars before an avalanche crashed it in one place (note: at that place you should be following the river and going from rock to rok to pass this area, after which the road will be again nice). There is a big house made for people from cities that can stay there during the night (doesn't work now). At the porch if this house there is a small sofa and an area where you can hide from rain which can be very sudden in this area. The river Kamenica is nice for swimming in summer, as well as the small lake at the end of this location. Be aware of poisonous snakes that are really common here.
The main attraction of this location are 2-3 breeding pairs of Πυροκότσυφας nesting here, as well as Φιδαετός that can be seen at this location from April till October.
Access by car from Mrselji village. Follow your google maps navigation to reach the parking place at 44.039962, 20.066660. Click on the P in the map for directions. After this place you can go just by foot. Then just follow the path and watch birds at both sides of the river.
Note: no Wi-Fi and other connection at this location.
