The mouth of the Vale Vaqueiro stream is one of the richest areas in avifauna in the central Portugal area. 180 bird species have been recorded here. Among the birds you can encounter are (Κοινό) Ορτύκι, Κοκκινοπέρδικα, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Συκοφάγος, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Μελισσοφάγος, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Κουκουβάγια, Iberian Grey Shrike, Iberian Chiffchaff, Μαύρος Πελαργός, Λευκός Πελαργός, White-rumped Swift, Ψαραετός, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι and Common Waxbill.
