Description
The wetland is located in Natural Reserve of the Lagoons of Santo André and Sancha. The route crosses two distinct topography and vegetation areas: the mounted area with the largest slopes; and the willow area corresponding to a lagoon floodplain area. The willow forest is of great quality and is of particular interest in the context of the wetlands of southern Portugal, and it is possible to observe a suspended root network of unusual size. Among the birds you can see here are (Ευρωπαϊκό) Κιρκίρι, Σουλτανοπουλάδα, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Φοινικόπτερο, Καλαμοκανάς, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρόπαπια, Καλαμόκιρκος, Μαυρολαίμης and (Κοινός) Λευκοτσικνιάς.
