Description
Arroteia is an area with brackish waters and salt marsh between Livramento and Fuseta. From the gravel road that runs through the area you can observe birds in all seasons. Sometimes close and sometimes further away and a telescope is needed. Most of the time the birds are shy and in more distant ponds. Among the birds you can spot are (Ευρωπαϊκό) Φοινικόπτερο, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρομύτα, Βαρβάρα, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αβοκέτα, Μαυροτσιροβάκος, Μαυρολαίμης and Λασποσκαλίδρα.

Access
Arroteia is located east of the town of Fuseta. The gravel road is accessible by car from the N 125. But preferable you explore the road on foot or with a bicycle. Press P on the map for directions.
