Description

Vinnesleiro nature reserve is on the north side of Bjørnefjorden. The reserve includes a bay with shallow waters and parts of the peninsula Neset. A stream flows into a bay in the northeast, There are some smaller islets in the bay. For birds, the Leiro wetland is a resting place during the migration, especially the autumn migration. 21 species of waders have been recorded, most of them during migration. The area is also a foraging area for ducks, herons and gulls.

Access

Route from Fusa: follow FV122 about 1 km after Vinnes until you see Vinnesleiro on the right. Parking space on the right at the beginning of Nesjavegen. Click on the P in the map to get directions. From the parking you are almost directly at the shallow Leiro bay. But you can also make a lomger walk. On the map you see a circular walk (about 5 km) around the Neset peninsula.
