The parking lot for trips further south along Jørholmen is a great place to see smaller birds, woodpeckers and ducks and herons in the bay to the east.

Description

Søndre Bjanes is a beautiful, elevated spot with a view of the Øyeren delta to the west and south. A landscape of fields, trees and bushes makes it a good habitat for birds such as (Κοινή) Καρδερίνα, Χρυσοτσίχλονο and tits. Woodpeckers ( Πευκοδρυοκολάπτης, Νανοδρυοκολάπτης, Πράσινος Δρυοκολάπτης and Μαύρος Δρυοκολάπτης) thrive in the nearby forests. To the east lies the bay Monsrudvika where you may see Σταχτοτσικνιάς and in the spring and fall migration: waders and ducks. Note that during mosquito season (after mid May) bugs can be an annoyance.
