Description
Tiendgorzen is a small, but bird-rich area. During bird migration, the mud flats provide a place for foraging waders such as (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα, Κοκκινοσκέλης and Μαχητής. In the spring the Γαλαζολαίμης along with many other reed birds such as Σχοινοποταμίδα make themselves heard and the (Ευρωπαϊκό) Ψευταηδόνι is present in high numbers throughout the year. In winter, the creeks and the adjacent Haringvliet are full of ducks with the highlights being Χηνοπρίστης, Θαλασσοπρίστης, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Βουκεφάλα and Νανοπρίστης. During the autumn migration, the bushes on the west side of the area are also very nice for all kinds of thrushes and other migrating songbirds with a small chance of Κιτρινόφρυδος Φυλλοσκόπος.
In the area you can walk a small circular route on unpaved paths and on the dike between the Haringvliet and the Tiendgorzen there is a straight part to walk, after which you have to return on the same path. From the path, both the Haringvliet and the Tiendgorzen have a good overview. The birds can be far away, especially on the Haringvliet, so a telescope is recommended, but there is also a lot to see without a spotting scope. The area can also be combined with nearby areas such as Tiengemeten or Korendijkse Slikken (both also described on Birdingplaces).

Nederlands: Tiendgorzen is een klein, maar vogelrijk gebied. Het is een kleine strook met slikken en rietruigte aan het Haringvliet. Tijdens de vogeltrek vormen de slikken een plek voor foeragerende steltlopers zoals (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα, Κοκκινοσκέλης en Μαχητής. In het voorjaar laat de Γαλαζολαίμης zich samen met vele andere rietvogels zoals Σχοινοποταμίδα zich horen en gedurende het hele jaar is de (Ευρωπαϊκό) Ψευταηδόνι in hoge aantallen aanwezig. In de winter zitten de kreken en het aanliggende Haringvliet vol met eenden met als hoogtepunten Χηνοπρίστης, Θαλασσοπρίστης, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Βουκεφάλα en Νανοπρίστης. Tijdens de najaarstrek zijn de bosjes aan de westkant van het gebied ook erg leuk voor allerlei lijsters en andere doortrekkende zangvogels met een kleine kans op Κιτρινόφρυδος Φυλλοσκόπος.
In het gebied is over onverharde paden een klein rondje te lopen en op het dijkje tussen het Haringvliet en de Tiendgorzen is een recht stuk te lopen waarna men weer over hetzelfde pad terugmoet. Vanaf het pad is zowel het Haringvliet als de Tiendgorzen goed te overzien. Vooral op het Haringvliet kunnen de vogels ver weg zitten, dus een telescoop is dan aan te raden, maar ook zonder is er veel te zien. Het gebied is ook leuk te combineren met in de buurt liggende gebieden zoals Tiengemeten of Korendijkse Slikken (beide ook beschreven op Birdingplaces).

Access
Parking is possible in the large parking lot where the ferry to Tiengemeten departs. From there you can walk a short circular walk on an unpaved walking path, which can be very muddy and wet in winter.

Nederlands: Parkeren is mogelijk op grote parkeerplaats waar de pont naar Tiengemeten vertrekt. Vanaf daar kun je een kleine ronde wandelen over een onverhard wandelpad wat in de de winter erg modderig en nat kan zijn.
