The Rammekenshoek nature reserve consists of beach, creeks, reed beds, forest and an old sea fort. In the 'canals' around the fort you can see different types of water birds. Outside the dike lies the only remaining salt marsh of the area. It is an area washed up by the sea with creeks, mudflats, salt-loving plants and coastal breeding birds such as Κοκκινοσκέλης, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Στρειδοφάγος and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αβοκέτα. In the reed beds that you can find throughout the area, Σχοινοποταμίδα, Καλαμοποταμίδα, (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο and Καλαμόκιρκος breed in the summer and in the winter you regularly encounter Μουστακαλής. A (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος colony is present in the forest for many years and you can also find many species of forest birds. Birds that you can encounter in the area include Κηποτσιροβάκος, Βαλτοποταμίδα, Βαρβάρα, Δασότρυγγας, Πρασινοσκέλης, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρομύτα, (Κοκκινόλαιμο) Νανοβουτηχτάρι, (Κοινός) Λευκοτσικνιάς and Πράσινος Δρυοκολάπτης.

Nederlands: Natuurgebied Rammekenshoek bestaat uit strand, kreken, rietkragen, bos en een oud zeefort. In de 'grachten' rond het fort kun je verschillende soorten watervogels zien. Buitendijks ligt het nog enige schor van Walcheren. Het is een door de zee opgewassen gebied met prielen, slibranden, zoutminnende planten en kustbroedvogels als Κοκκινοσκέλης, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Στρειδοφάγος en (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αβοκέτα. In de rietkragen die je in het hele gebied kunt vinden, broeden in de zomer Σχοινοποταμίδα, Καλαμοποταμίδα, (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο en Καλαμόκιρκος en in de winter tref je er regelmatig Μουστακαλής. In het bos zit al jarenlang een (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κορμοράνος kolonie en kun je veel soorten bosvogels aantreffen.
