Description
The area is easily accessible with a walking path around the two lakes. It is unique to have such an area so close to the city. Common reedbirds like Σχοινοποταμίδα, (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο and Καλαμοποταμίδα breed in the reedbeds. Other birds that can be heard or seen are (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα, Βαρβάρα, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Αβοκέτα, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρομύτα and Γαλαζολαίμης. Numerous geese and duck species can be seen.
The unpaved trails lead right past puddles full of waders and geese. The (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα stunt around you to divert attention from their nests.
