Along the Brekkenpaad you can hear thousands of (Ευρωπαϊκό) Σφυριχτάρι whistling on the lake in the winter months. On the north side of the area the are wet meadows that are rich in nutrients and attract many birds. The entire path is very rich in birds in every season, highly recommended! Among the birds you can see along the way are Ασπρομέτωπη Χήνα, Pink-footed Goose, Barnacle Goose, Βαρβάρα, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρόπαπια, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Κιρκίρι, Νανοπρίστης, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Στρειδοφάγος, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Καλημάνα, Θαλασσολιμόζα, (Ευρωπαϊκή) Λιμόζα, Μαχητής, (Κοινό) Μπεκατσίνι, (Ευρασιατικός) Ήταυρος, (Ευρασιατική) Χουλιαρομύτα, Σχοινοποταμίδα,Κιτρινοσουσουράδα, Λιβαδοκελάδα, (Κοινή) Καρδερίνα and (Μεγάλο) Καλαμοτσίχλονο.
