The Valle Vecchia is a large wetland area located close to Brussa. A great place for birdwatching with a large range of habitats and many birds.
The Valle Vecchia is a great place for both breeding and migratory birds, as it has such a large range of habitats within the area. In the reedbeds there is a large range of species such as (Ευρωπαϊκός) Μικροτσικνιάς, Πορφυροτσικνιάς and (Ευρωπαϊκή) Νεροκοτσέλα. The lake also has a large variety of rare birds like Καλαμοκανάς, (Ξανθός) Κρυπτοτσικνιάς and (Ευρασιατική) Χαλκόκοτα. The road towards the Valle Vecchia is a great place for (Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Μελισσοφάγος and (Ευρωπαϊκός) Κούκος.
To get to Valle Vecchia you have to go through Brussa and continue towards the canal Cavanella in a straight line. You will then cross the canal and continue straight ahead, until you reach two lakes ( these two lakes can also be good for birdlife ) where you will then turn right. After turning right keep on going straight until the car park.
