Description

The cape of Punta San Martino in Arenzano is a good hotspot for watching seabirds, especially Σούλα (του Βορά), which can be seen also quite close to the shore. They are present all year-round, but in summer only with immatures. Adults spend their winter here, but are more abundant during migrations, in November and March.

Also Μύχος (της Μεσογείου) and Αρτέμης, Αρτέμης (diomedea) are commonly seen foraging in the waters in front of the cape. The Razorbill can be seen in winter, especially in December. In March and April, this is also a good spot for watching migrants on the sea, especially in the first couple of hours after sunrise. Here, many dabbling ducks and herons can be seen in the morning. Finally, in winter Χειμωνογλάρονο is always present here, as well as the (Ευρωπαϊκός) Θαλασσοκόρακας in late summer and autumn.
