Description

Narsapur features dense dry‑deciduous forest, rocky trails, ponds, a central lake, and an adjacent urban park with a watchtower. Birders can spot woodpeckers such as Yellow-crowned Woodpecker, Brown-capped Pygmy Woodpecker, Black-rumped Flameback, and other birds like Jerdon's Leafbird, Verditer Flycatcher, Eurasian Hoopoe, Indian Grey Hornbill, Brahminy Kite, Asian Openbill, Painted Stork and winter migrants across habitats. The mix of habitats, forest, water, scrub, and open park, makes birding rich and varied.

Narsapur Reserve Forest is located 45 km north of Hyderabad in Medak district,near Narsapur town. There are separate entrances for the forest, lake, and urban park (with parking at each). Best reached by car, though buses go to Narsapur. Walk the forest trails (through the Medalamma Temple), the lake shore, and park paths. Allow a few hours and plan mornings for best sightings. Trails are well‑defined but bring snacks, water, and sturdy shoes. There are no food stalls inside. The circular walking route on the map is about 3 km and passes the outlook tower. But there are many more trails in the area you can explore.
