Description
The lagoon is the 'waterlily lake' mentioned by Gerald Durrell in My Family and Other Animals. However it appeared lifeless on my September visit. The island has 3 beaches, accessible by car, and good scrub and heath habitat favoured by warblers, Τσιφτάς, (Ευρωπαϊκός) Γκιώνης and (Ευρωπαϊκό) Τρυγόνι. A pair of Χρυσαετός were hunting over the wooded hills on return journey to Roda. Other birds you can enconter are Δενδροχελίδονο, Βουνοσταχτάρα, (Ευρωπαϊκό) Βραχοχελίδονο, Μαυροφτέρι, Μαυροτσιροβάκος and Δενδροτσιροβάκος.
